National Institute of Behavioural Sciences (NIBS)
National Institute of Behavioural Sciences (NIBS) was established in 1987, as an emerging need for the care and concern for those suffering from mental disorder and disability. The founder members are largely professionals well known in their own areas of specialisation. The central concern of these professionals is as follows:

  • Facilitating the learning process of the slow learners and persons with learning disability.
  • Creating awareness and concern amongst common persons to diagnose, treat, and sensitize persons, groups in understanding mental health and coping with situations.
  • Provide and facilitate the care of persons suffering from mental disorder and disability.
  • Facilitate the process of detoxification and rehabilitation of persons affected by addiction.
  • Ensure inexpensive yet quality treatment for the sections of society for whom medical and psychological treatment is out of reach.
  • Establish a system whereby communities can run a self-sustainable mental health practice.
